Sharing Pitt Memories

From Military to Management via Pitt

|

Robert Kessler (A&S '49):

In 1944, the U.S. Air Force sent me to Pitt as part of my aviation cadet training. It was exciting for an 18-year-old kid from Braddock, and shaped my entire future. I returned to Pitt after my service and graduated in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. This eventually led to my federal government service, where I was a member of the senior executive service and the Director of Financial Management for the U.S. Department of Transportation.
