Pitt Programs Benefit Area Students

|

Whether assisting budding authors with their creative writing or introducing high school students to health care delivery systems, Pitt academies and institutes engage students of all ages.

To help middle school students from low-income families stay active in the summer, there’s Pitt’s Physical Activities Camp for Kids (PACK).

Through Pitt’s Upward Bound program, high school students receive guidance on how to improve their grades and identify career paths, with the ultimate goal of helping them enroll in and graduate from post-secondary institutions.

Each year, as part of the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project, Pitt’s School of Education and Creative Writing Program host the Young Writers’ Institute, which fosters literacy and creativity among participating students.

Pitt’s Health Career Scholars Academy is a four-week, residential summer program that provides hands-on experience and education in health careers to gifted high school sophomores and juniors.
