Our Love Story Begins at Pitt

|

Carlyne Quirino-Ringle (A&S ’07):

I met the love of my life in the hallway of a fraternity house. We were both juniors; he was studying philosophy and writing, and I was studying writing and political science. Both of us were active members of the Greek community (he is a member of Sigma Epsilon Pi, and I am a member of Kappa Delta)…and at the time, both of us were seeing other people. But love has a way on the Pitt campus. We ran into each other in the William Pitt Union, or sometimes while walking down Fifth Avenue. A year and a half later, we even tried for a coffee date at Common Grounds in the Cathedral of Learning. It wasn’t until after we’d both graduated from Pitt that we reconnected via the Internet and formally started our courtship.

When it came to planning our wedding ceremony, there was no question in our mind that we should be married at Heinz Chapel. We even drove to campus on the first of May in 2009 to call the reservation line. A year later we were married at Heinz Chapel and celebrated with many of our Pitt Greek friends at the University Club. It was the most magical celebration, and I couldn’t imagine it happening anywhere else than the place we first met.
